STAUNTON, Va. - It was another convincing win for the Southern Virginia University women's basketball team as they doubled up Mary Baldwin, 87-41.
The first quarter was perhaps the most dominant stretch of play from the Knights all season. After a three-pointer gave Mary Baldwin an early 3-2 advantage, Southern Virginia improbably rattled off the next 23 points.
They held the fighting squirrels to just one field goal in the opening frame, seemingly putting the game away after just ten minutes.
With still work to be done, Anna Kimball's stellar play down low couldn't be matched. She had three blocks before the end of the first half as the Knights took a 44-18 lead into the locker room.

Freshman guard Kensey Peterson also came to play, connecting on four of six three-point attempts which ultimately propelled her to a career-high of 16 points.
After a third quarter that was equally as dominant as the first, the Knights were in cruise control until the buzzer, resulting in an 87-41 triumph.
Anna Kimball notched her fourth double-double of the season, collecting 15 boards, 16 points, and posting five blocks. Kensey Peterson, Maria Savvun, Abigail Snyder, and Samantha Smith also finished in double-digit scoring for the Knights.
