BUENA VISTA, Va. - The Southern Virginia University women's volleyball team made it three wins in a row on Saturday afternoon, dispatching the Methodist Monarchs in three sets.
Summer Hahn ignited a five-point Southern Virginia onslaught midway through the first to help them eventually take a 1-0 lead.
Again, while trailing late in the second frame, Hahn tallied another kill to knot the score at 21 before a kill and an ace from Anne Downs helped seal the set, putting Methodist on the brink of defeat.
In the third, a kill from Ryann Vail capped a 9-1 start for the Knights, putting them in the driver's seat for a third straight victory. Ultimately, stingy defense at the net forced the Monarchs into several attack errors which would close out another win for the Knights.
Hahn and Downs each recorded 10 kills, with Hahn also leading in blocks with 4. Laura Forsgren totaled 12 digs as the Southern Virginia defense caused Methodist to hit just .081.
Looking Ahead
The Knights will visit Brevard on Tuesday, October 13th before hosting their first and only tri-match of the year at Knight Arena on Saturday, October 17th.
