BUENA VISTA, Va. - It was a near perfect evening for the Southern Virginia University women's basketball team, as they honored five seniors before their final regular season game in Knight Arena.
Each senior would score during a dominant all-around effort, sending Mary Baldwin home after a 90-33 victory.
The teams traded turnovers to open the game, but the Knights eventually found their scoring touch and went on a 10-0 run over the next five minutes.
The score quickly became lopsided, in large part to the rebounding presence of Ruth Kempler. Kempler corralled five offensive boards to total 11 in the first half, helping the Knights to 46-11 lead after twenty minutes.
In the second half, Abigail Snyder and Maria Savvun let it fly from deep, eventually combining for nine threes. Savvun went 6 for 11 from downtown and led the scoring with 20 points.

Jocelyn Stewart put in a layup in the fourth quarter to round out the scoring for the group of seniors, producing a huge roar from the Knights faithful. In the end, it was a 90-33 victory for Southern Virginia.
Kempler and Snyder each recorded double-doubles, while Anna Kimball was one point and rebound away from doing the same.
