Southern Virginia Rugby Dominates James Madison in 122–0 Rout

Buena Vista, Va. — The Southern Virginia University rugby team delivered a dominant performance Saturday, overwhelming James Madison University with a 122–0 victory.

The Knights wasted no time getting on the board as Saki Tikotani crossed for the first try just one minute into the match. Kahanu Koi added the conversion to give Southern Virginia an early lead.

Villami Esikia followed with another try just before the six-minute mark, and Koi again converted to extend the advantage. Moments later, Tikotani set up another scoring opportunity with a well-timed pitch that led to a try from Nick Vakatawa before the 10-minute mark. Koi successfully added the conversion.

Esikia soon added his second try of the match as the Knights continued to pile on points. Southern Virginia's relentless attack built a commanding 57–0 lead by halftime.

The scoring surge continued in the second half. Vakatawa added multiple tries as the Knights maintained control, while Andy Faupusa and Saveaalii Fitisemanu each contributed scores as well. Southern Virginia closed the match with a 40-point run to secure the emphatic 122–0 victory.

The Knights will now take a short break before traveling to Rock Hill to compete in the Ruck the Rock 7s tournament at Manchester Meadows Park.
