SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Southern Virginia University men's lacrosse team traveled west to Tennessee for their final non-conference of the season, dropping a 15-4 decision to Sewanee.
The teams were off on level footing for most of the first quarter. JC Winterton and Jackson Haley tallied goals for Southern Virginia, but the Knights trailed 5-2 after fifteen minutes.
Sewanee went on a huge run during the second and third quarters, giving themselves a double-digit advantage before the Knights found the back of the net again.
Lincoln Timothy and Myles Nielson wrapped up the scoring for the visitors, just over a minute apart in the final frame.
Each team used at least two goalies during the contest, with the Knights fielding both Jace Lightfoot and Daniel Goold who made four and three saves respectively.
Southern Virginia put 22 shots on net, but had trouble solving Sewanee's trio of keepers who combined for 18 total saves. Fierce Miller led the Knights' defense with four caused turnovers, followed by Alfredo Hurtado and Britton Tidwell who caused two each.
