RALEIGH, N.C. - The Southern Virginia University women's volleyball shook off a five set loss earlier this week by taking down Meredith in four sets on Saturday in Raleigh.
The Knights were dominant in the early going, rattling off eight straight points after conceding the opening point to take control of the game.
Baylee Mirabal was off to a quality start, tallying three kills in the first nine points.
Eventually, a pair of blocks from Macie Weatherly and Ryann Vail helped secure an opening set win. The Angels in the second, nearly leading from start to finish to even the sets at one apiece.
The Knights managed to bounce back in third, taking the set by a wide margin and kept the momentum going into the fourth. They used a well-balanced attack and an impressive defense to ultimately send the hosts to their second straight loss.
Mirabal finished her day with a career high of 18 kills. She also led the team in digs, registering 17. Weatherly, Vail, and Summer Hahn all took part in at least six blocks to help the Knights dominate Meredith in that category, 15-3.
