BUENA VISTA, Va. The Knights forced the Lions to 20 first half
turnovers for an early lead and a final score of 88-39.
The Knights were paced by J.J Holt's 20 points, seven
assists, five rebounds and three steals in the big win over Penn
State- Greater Allegheny. Holt scored 15 of his points in the first
half shooting 8 for 13 from the field. Cory Evans added 10 points
and Dele Opeifa and Stefan Vlassek each came away with a team- high
of five rebounds apiece. The Knights bench also did well on the
offensive end scoring 39 points.
The Knights held the Lions to single digits in the first half until
a made free- throw by Rochon Washington at the 4:42 mark as the
Knights led 36-10. As a team, the Knights shot 18 for 35 (.514) for
a final first half score of 42-16. The Knights kept up the
intensity in the second half dishing out 13 assists on 20 for
34(.588) shooting.
The Penn State- Greater Allegheny Lions' top scorer was Bill
Kane with 10 points. Mike Hyland added nine points and six rebounds
and Devon Brooks contributed eight points.
The Knights next game will be held in “The Barn” on
Saturday, January 17, 2009 against Maryland Bible.
