Women's Tennis Tops Fall to Christopher Newport

BUENA VISTA, Va.—Facing its second Capital Athletic Conference opponent, the Southern Virginia University women's tennis team fell, 9-0, to Christopher Newport University last Saturday afternoon.

During doubles competition, the pairs went 0-3. Lauren Morrison and Micah Roberts fell 8-1 to CNU's Katie Carlson and Jodi Noland. Kristen Laurence and Katelynn Tlustek lost 8-0 to Logan Eldridge and Jackie Gaine. Southern Virginia's Anna Evans and Kari Stollenwerk also lost 8-0 to Kelsey Clark and Anna Chekalkina.

In singles play, Lauren Morrison, Micah Roberts and Kirsten Laurence fell to CNU's Jodi Noland, Logan Eldridge and Jackie Gaine, 6-0, 6-0. Katie Carlson of CNU defeated Katelynn Tlustek 6-1, 6-0, while Anna Evans and Kari Stollenwerk fell 6-0, 6-0 to Kelsey Clark and Anna Chekalkina, respectively.

Women's tennis faces Randolph College on Monday, Mar. 24. The match is slated to begin at 5:00 p.m. at The Fields in Buena Vista, Va.
