Box Score 2 BUENA VISTA, Va.—In the last double header of the season the Knights' dreams for a win were dashed by Bridgewater College who run ruled the Knights in both games 12-2 and 11-2.
It was senior day at Harvey-Dryden Field as MaKenzie Cox, Jamie Pinkston and Lainie Thompson played in their final games as Knights.
In game one the Knights (0-26) scored a run in both the first and last inning. Down 3-0 in the bottom of the first Pinkston hit a lead-off single, stole second, and scored on a ball hit by Cox that resulted in an error by the right fielder.
In the bottom of the fifth, now trailing 12-1, Pinkston and Cox walks and an Annie Biggs single loaded the bases for Thompson who was able to put the ball in play for an RBI single.
Due to five Knight errors in game one Pinkston only allowed three earned runs.
The Eagles (11-25) also scored first in game two, with one run in the top of the second followed by six runs in the top of the fourth.
The Knights were able to respond with one run in the fourth as Thompson singled, advanced to third on a error on the pitcher from a ball put in play by Keelie Gray, and scored on a passed ball.
Trailing 11-1 going into the bottom of the fifth the Knights were able to get their last score of the year as Reilly Anderson, in her first game this year, singled to the outfield. Pinkston then singled followed by an RBI single by Katierose Helems that scored Anderson.
It was a great day for the seniors, who each had hits in both games.
