FERRUM, Va.—The Southern Virginia baseball team fell on the road at Ferrum College 9-0 on Friday afternoon at Panther Field.
The Knights (2-2) faced Ferrum's (2-2) best pitcher Jake Perkins, who gave up one hit in his six innings pitched, which came in the first inning when Marcus Begg singled to centerfield.
Southern Virginia's second hit came in the seventh inning from pinch hitter Davis Jones, who also singled to centerfield, but was left on base.
Ferrum scored nine runs on ten hits, scoring in the first three innings of the game and recorded a four-run seventh.
Senior Colin Bigelow allowed four runs (one earned) in his five-inning start with two strikeouts. Justin King and Tayler Peterson also saw time on the mound.
The Knight's game vs. Maine-Presque Isle has been postponed due to weather.
