BUENA VISTA, Va.—The Southern Virginia men's lacrosse team fell 13-10 to Bridgewater College in their second home game of the year.
Three goals were scored in the first ten minutes of the game, and the Eagles (2-1) took control at the end of the first quarter with an early 6-3 lead against the Knights (0-3, 0-1 CAC). Southern Virginia fell behind 10-5 at the half.
Bridgewater scored their final goal in the fourth minute of the third quarter taking a 13-6 lead. The Knights did not back down as the defense stayed strong and the offense went on a 4-0 run with four different Knights scoring. Despite the run, Southern Virginia ran out of time and was unable to catch up to the Eagles.
Six different players found the back of the net for Southern Virginia. Spencer Tunick, Zach Danneman, Casey Rich, and Payton Kimber each scored two goals for the Knights. Brady Cook and Derek Marks scored one goal apiece.
Freshman Logan Lund once again controlled the face-offs, winning 17 of 26.
Southern Virginia continues play on March 5 at Greensboro College. Game time is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
