LEXINGTON, Va.—The Southern Virginia baseball team fell to Washington and Lee University 6-1 on Tuesday afternoon at Dick Smith Field.
The Generals (14-7, 2-2 ODAC) got on the scoreboard early scoring a run in the first inning. In the bottom of the fourth Washington and Lee took a 2-0 lead over the Knights (5-11, 1-2 CAC) with a homerun to left-center and continued the momentum adding three runs in the fifth inning.
Southern Virginia capitalized on an error by the Generals' second baseman in the seventh allowing Zach McNally to score.
The Generals took the win 6-1, scoring their final run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Davis Jones, Brevin Baessler, Zach McNally, Josh Hillburn, and Cody Davis each earned a hit on the day.
Jonathan Hodges pitched four innings, Justin King pitched one inning and earned a strikeout with six hits and three runs. Tayler Peterson saw time on the mound for two innings recording a strikeout and allowing two hits.
