Softball Falls at Eastern Mennonite

HARRISONBURG, Va.—The Southern Virginia softball team was defeated in a double header 19-0 in five innings (game one) and 5-0 (game two) at Eastern Mennonite University.

In game one, the Royals (9-3) scored three runs in the first inning before a 12-run second. EMU's pitcher threw a no-hitter while Rachael Moore and Madisen Muse split time as pitcher for the Knights (3-9). Muse pitched against 23 batters and recorded two strike outs.

In game two, the Knights were able to hold the Royals to only five runs. Tara Hilton doubled to center field in the top of the sixth inning. Muse was the only pitcher for the Knights, facing 30 batters and recording a strike out.

Annie Clark recorded two hits while Moore and Mollie Gabbert added one apiece.

Southern Virginia plays a doubleheader at Roanoke College on Saturday, March 19 at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.
