LYNCHBURG, Va.—The Southern Virginia softball team lost both games in a double header against Randolph College 15-0 and 11-3.
In game one Randolph (4-2) took an early 9-0 lead after the first two innings. Freshman Rachael Moore faced 37 batters as pitcher for the Knights (2-4), recording four strike outs.
Jordan Stites hit a double for Southern Virginia. Brianna McGuire and Sarah Edwards each recorded one hit.
Game two finished in six innings with Madisen Muse in the pitching circle for the Knights, recording one strike out.
Southern Virginia scored their first run of the day in the second inning when Sarah Edwards scored on an error. Edwards then brought in Brianna McGuire in the top of the third, recording the only RBI of the game.
Madison Muse scored an unearned run for the Knights in the top of the fourth.
Southern Virginia hosts Bluefield College for a double header on Friday, March 4 in Covington, Virginia. Start times are 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
