BUENA VISTA, Va. — The Southern Virginia University softball team fell 3-1 and 11-0 in a double header against Bluefield College.
In game one, the Rams (9-3) scored runs in the first, fourth, and seventh innings to take the win. The Knights (1-9) scored in the fifth inning when Mollie Gabbert hit the first homerun of the season. Megan Harmon pitched all seven innings and had three strikeouts and five walks on 34 batters.
The Rams controlled game two by scoring five runs in the first five innings and then securing the win with six runs in the final inning. Tara Hilton hit a triple for the Knights. Megan Stapley pitched for Southern Virginia and recorded six walks and no strikeouts.
The Knights return home on March 11 as they host Wilson College at 12 and 2 p.m.
