FRONT ROYAL, Va. — The Southern Virginia University men's rugby team stayed undefeated on the season with a win over Christendom College Saturday afternoon by the score of 27-18.
The first half showed slow play, having only one try scored by Southern Virginia's Simi Hingano. Christendom scored a try and converted a penalty kick taking a 10-5 lead at the half.
Peni Vakalahi put the Knights up at the beginning of the second half, scoring his first try of the match. Later in the half, Elijah Mendoza and Simi Hingano converted tries of their own to extend their lead for the Knights.
One final penalty kick from O'Shea Settle secured the victory and kept their undefeated season and their four-game win streak alive.
Up next for Southern Virginia will be Emory and Henry on Saturday, October 19.
