Box Score BUENA VISTA, Va. — The Southern Virginia University men's lacrosse team was dealt their second consecutive Capital Athletic Conference loss Saturday afternoon, falling 22-17 to the St. Mary's (Md.) Seahawks.
The Seahawks (8-4, 1-0) outscored the Knights (5-7, 0-2) in the first quarter 7-5 closing out the quarter 3-1 run.
Both teams split even in the second quarter scoring four goals each giving the Seahawks the 11-9 lead at the half.
The third quarter doomed the Knights, as they were outscored 8-3 by the Seahawks including a 5-0 run to push the lead to the largest of the day heading into the final quarter 19-12.
The Knights outscored the Seahawks in the fourth quarter 5-3. The seven-point deficit the Knights faced was too much handing the Knights the 22-17 loss.
Zach Danneman strong played continued scoring a game-high seven goals and two assists. Shawn Lamb placed four in the back of the net and added a pair of assists. Nick Bair collected a game-high eight ground balls.
Max Groen and Jude Brown led the Seahawks with four goals and two assists each.
The Knights travel to Boston, Massachusets for a matchup against Bowdoin Saturday, April 6 at 4:00 at Boston University.
