Swimming Splits Meet Against Mary Washington and Marymount

FREDERICKSBURG, VA. — The Southern Virginia University swim team took on the University of Mary Washington and Marymount University Friday night. The men's team fell to Mary Washington 165-96.5 while defeating Marymount 202-43. The women fell to Mary Washington 218-43 and defeated Marymount 149-106. 


Meet Notes

  • Maya Hughes had a record-breaking night for the women's team, setting two program records in the 1000 free (11:45.47) and the 500 free (5:43.93)
  • Max Barnett had an impressive outing, winning both the 200 breaststroke (2:15.72) and the 200 IM (2:01.20)
  • Josh Skabelund added a victory for the team, winning the 50 free with a time of 22.08
  • Stuart Burbidge won the 100 freestyle with a final time of 48.60, while the men's 400 free relay ended in a tie with a finish time of 3:15.05

The Knights return to action, taking on West Virginia Tech on Saturday, November 6. Meet time is scheduled for 1 pm.
