FAYETTEVILLE, NC. — The Southern Virginia University football team dropped their road game Saturday afternoon, falling to Methodist University 37-14.

  • Methodist opened the game, scoring first with a two-yard rushing touchdown, but failed to convert the extra point
  • The Monarchs again scored with three minutes remaining in the first off of 26-yard receiving touchdown to go up 13-0
  • The Knights got on the board in the second quarter following a 75-yard drive that ended with a 24-yard pass from Davis Pinkston to Matthew Johansson
  • Southern Virginia again scored with five minutes remaining in the half, taking the lead 14-13, with Davis Pinkston finding an open Matthew Johansson for the 15-yard touchdown
