ELIZABETH CITY, NC. — The Southern Virginia University baseball team debuted in the season opener against Mid Atlantic Christian Tuesday afternoon, splitting their matches 4-2 and 5-6.

• In game one, Mitch Smith doubled to left field and sending Ehtan Bergstrom in to score for the RBI
• In the second inning, Mitch Smith scored unearned after a costly error by the center fielder
• Luke Paulson wrapped things up in sixth inning, recording two RBI's with a home run
• In game two, Will Parker singled to center field, sending in Kyle Thompson in for an RBI
• Ethan Bergstrom followed with a single to center field, recording an RBI after sending in Will Parker
• Jackson Massey continued the rally in the sixth with a single to center field bringing in Ethan Bergstrom for the score
• Mitch Smith scored the final point for the team off of an unearned run
