Box Score BUENA VISTA, VA. — The Southern Virginia University men's lacrosse team advanced to 2-0 on the year in USA South Conference play, dominating LaGrange 25-8 in Knight Stadium Saturday afternoon.

- The Knights dominated from the opening whistle, going up 6-0 in the first quarter, led by two Ty Veres goals
- Tennison Schmidt opened the second quarter with an unassisted goal, before Carter Bean and Eric Norr each tallied two goals
- Southern Virginia went into the halftime break with the dominant 23-3 lead
- Eric Norr led all players in the first half with three goals
- Ty Veres spotted an open Sterling Thatcher to get the second half going, sparking a 7-0 scoring run, extending their lead to 16 19-3
- Zak Sullivan closed out the third scoring two back-to-back goals, leading the team into the fourth with the 21-5 lead
- Southern Virginia dominated the rest of the game, running away with the 25-8 victory over the Panthers
- In his first game back from injury, Caleb Brodie anchored the defense, recording three clutch saves including a diving save across the crease, stuffing the wide-open shooter
- At the faceoff X, Jaydon Arnold impressed, going 16-for-21 while Peyton Merwin went 5-for-10
The Knights return to action on Thursday, March 24, taking on Centre College in Knight Stadium. Game time is scheduled for 5 pm.
