Box Score BUENA VISTA, VA. — The Southern Virginia University men's lacrosse team took on Centre College in Knight Stadium Thursday night, taking down the Colonels 14-11.

- Centre got the scoring going in the first quarter, only needing a minute to get on the board on a goal from David Caldwell
- Southern Virginia answered, scoring three unanswered, with two goals coming from Tennison Schmidt
- Up 5-3 after the first, Gabe King opened the second quarter with back-to-back goals, collecting the first-half hat trick
- Ty Veres got into the mix with six minutes remaining in the half, scoring his first goal unassisted, making the new score 8-4
- Beginning the new half, Eric Norr scored his first goal of the game off of a Tennison Schmidt assist
- Michael Brown and Shawn Lamb added goals for the Knights, extending the lead to four goals, 11-7
- Lamb, King, and Veres closed the game with a goal each in the fourth quarter, locking in the 14-11 victory
- In goal for the Knights, Caleb Brodie anchored the defense, recording 13 saves
Southern Virginia hits the road, taking on Piedmont in a USA South Conference matchup. Game time is slated for noon.
