DANVILLE, VA. — The Southern Virginia University baseball team edged out Averett University in game two of the three-game series Friday night, taking down the Cougars 7-6. 

Game Notes

• Will Parker, Jackson Massey, Luke Roberts, and Tyson Toller led the Knights with two hits a piece
• Massey and Roberts both recorded two RBIs, leading all players
• In the third inning, Nick Daynes put the Knights on the board first, sending Tyson Toller home for the 1-0 lead
• Southern Virginia used the fourth inning to pull away from Averett with Luke Roberts starting out with a double to left field, allowing Jackson Massey to score
• Sinjun Johnson singled to right field following Roberts, recording the RBI, bringing in Luke Roberts for the score
• Tyson Toller closed out the fourth, doubling to left field, sending Benjamin Horsley home
• In the seventh inning Nick Daynes put the Knights back up 5-4 after Jackson Massey recorded the single to left field 
• Luke Roberts sent Mitchell Smith home, putting Southern Virginia up 6-4 after another single to left field 
• In the ninth inning, with the score tied at six, Jackson Massey sac flied out to center field, sending Will Parker home for the walk-off win

Southern Virginia wraps up the three-game series against Averett on Saturday, March 26. Game time is scheduled for 1 pm.
