Box Score BUENA VISTA, VA. — The Southern Virginia University men's lacrosse team took on second-seeded Pfeiffer University in Knight Stadium Saturday afternoon, dominating the Falcons 17-8.
Game Notes
- Tennison Schmidt led the team with five points off of four goals and one assist
- Ty Veres, Shawn Lamb, Landon Barney, and Carter Bean each recorded two goals
- Michael Brown anchored the defense on the day, racking up six caused turnovers and six ground balls
- In the cage, Caleb Brodie recorded 13 saves on 20 shots faced
- Michael Brown got the Knights on the board first, scoring a goal in transition off of an assist from Eric Norr
- Southern Virginia closed out the first quarter with three consecutive goals to take the 5-4 lead
- The Knights outscored the Falcons in the second quarter 3-1, with goals coming from Norr, Barney, and Lamb
- Following the halftime break, Southern Virginia owned the third quarter, outscoring their opponent 7-1
- Tennison Schmidt led all players in the third with two goals and one assist
- Both teams scored two goals in the final quarter of the game, with the Knights walking away with the 17-8 victory
Southern Virginia takes on nationally-ranked Christopher Newport in Knight Stadium on Wednesday, April 6. Game time is scheduled for 5 pm.
