BUENA VISTA, VA. — The Southern Virginia University baseball team dropped a close game to Greensboro for the first of the three-game series, with the Knights falling 4-3. 

Game Notes

• Kyle Thompson and Nick Daynes led the team with two recorded hits
• Mitchell Smith, Luke Paulson, and Tyson Toller followed with one recorded hit
• On the mound, Will Parker recorded four strikeouts while Will Sprague recorded two
• In the first inning, Nick Daynes got things going, advancing Kyle Thompson home for the first run of the game to put the Knights up 1-0
• Two innings later, Mitchell Smith singled to left field, again sending Kyle Thompson home for the run
• In the sixth inning, Aiden Bevier managed to score off of an error by the second baseman, putting Southern Virginia up 3-2
• Greensboro managed to score two more runs to put the Pride over the Knights 4-3

Southern Virginia returns to action on Saturday, April 23, for a doubleheader against Greensboro. Game one is scheduled for noon and game two is slated for 3 pm.
