RALEIGH, NC. — The Southern Virginia University baseball concluded their season by taking on William Peace in a three-game series over the weekend. The Knights went 1-2 in the series, falling in games one and two 11-1 and 6-0, while taking the final game 7-2. 

Series Notes

• In game one, Luke Paulson sac flied out to left field, advancing Mitchell Smith home for the unearned run, getting the lone run of the game on the board for the Knights
• After a scoreless second game, Southern Virginia bounced back in the final game of the series
• Will Parker led the way for the Knights in game three, recording three hits and two RBIs
• On the mound, Will Sprague recorded two strikeouts while Paul Steiger and Luke Paulson recorded one
• After falling behind 2-0 early after the first inning, Will Parker got the team going in the fifth inning with a two-run double to center field, evening the score at two
• Nick Daynes followed parker with a single to center field, advancing David Hunley home for the go-ahead run, putting the team up 3-2
• Kyle Thompson and Jake Watson extended the team's lead up to three runs after the sixth inning with two recorded RBIs between the two 
• Jackson Massey closed out the game with a single to center field, scoring Nick Daynes and Will Parker to lock in the 7-2 victory for the Knights
