Box Score BUENA VISTA, VA. — The Southern Virginia University men's lacrosse team took on No.2 Christopher Newport in Knight Stadium Wednesday night, falling to the Captains 22-10.

- Tennison Schmidt led Southern Virginia with a hat-trick and two ground balls
- Shawn Lamb had a solid night, scoring four points off of two goals and two assists while bringing in three ground balls
- Facing off, Jaydon Arnold led the team in ground balls with eight, while Michael Brown, Ty Veres, and Seth Millington each recorded five
- In goal, Caleb Brodie stood his ground, impressing with 19 saves on 41 shots faced
- Both teams were evenly matched in the first quarter with CNU holding the 3-2 lead
- Tennison Schmidt had both of the Knights' goals with both goals being assisted by Ty Veres
- The Captains pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring the Knights 10-1, with Tennison Schmidt recording the first-half hat trick
- Coming out of the halftime break, Southern Virginia opened with a 3-1 scoring run, with Shawn Lamb, Carter Bean, and Eric Norr recording goals
- Michael Brown and Sterling Thatcher closed the third with a goal each
- Lamb and Bean scored the team's final goals in the fourth quarter, with the Captains taking the 22-10 victory
Southern Virginia travels to Georgia to take on Huntingdon on Saturday, April 9. Game time is slated for 1 pm.
