Bridgewater, VA - The Southern Virginia University men's and women's swim team continued their busy schedule by traveling to Bridgewater College for a dual meet with the Eagles. Despite several notable performances from the Knights, the men and women fell short of a team victory.
Southern Virginia's first individual win of the meet came from Jamie Horne in the women's 50-meter backstroke. Horne, who continued her strong start to the season, held off several Bridgewater swimmers to win by a full second, finishing with a time of 32.90. Jesi Fuhriman was the next Knight to claim gold by winning a thrilling women's 50 free in a time of 28.87. Fuhriman finished ahead of four other swimmers, who all finished within half a second of her winning time. Horne and Fuhriman nearly tripled their win totals by finishing second in the 100 IM, 50 Fly, 50 Breast, and 100 Freestyle, respectively.
Roman Nowell and Ned Hill also had standout performances on the men's side. Nowell earned a third-place finish in the 100m Individual Medley, finishing with a time of 1:04.17, less than two seconds behind the winner. Ned Hill placed one better by finishing the 100m Freestyle in second place with a time of 58.04.
