ASHLAND, Va. – Six Southern Virginia University student-athletes have been named to the 2024–2025 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Academic All-State Team, which recognizes 216 student-athletes from 36 Virginia institutions for outstanding academic achievement.

Sydney Bassett, Sr., Winston-Salem, Va. – Biochemistry, Women's Volleyball
An Honorable Mention All-American, Bassett excelled both on the court and in the classroom.

Heidi Barton, Sr., Evanston, Wyo. – Business Management and Leadership, Women's Cross Country/Track & Field
Barton placed in the top 20 nationally at the NCAA Championships while leading her team academically.

Elias Ballstaedt, Sr., Midway, Utah – Psychology, Men's Basketball
Ballstaedt became the first student-athlete in program history to earn USA South Player of the Year and All-Region honors in the same season, leading the Knights on and off the court.

Maybel Harris, Sr., Highland, Utah – Business Management and Leadership, Women's Soccer
A team captain and All-Conference selection, Harris played a pivotal role for the women's soccer program.

Kedryn Chandler, Sr., Buena Vista, Va. – Business Management and Leadership, Men's Cross Country/Track & Field
An All-Conference performer in cross country and track, Chandler consistently led the Knights' distance program.

Abigail Snyder, Jr., Rocky Ford, Colo. – Business Management and Leadership, Women's Basketball
An All-Conference honoree, Snyder was a key contributor for the women's basketball team during their championship-winning season.
