CORAL SPRINGS, FLA. – The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) has announced its prestigious team academic awards for the 2023-2024 season, and Southern Virginia University's Women's Golf program has been recognized as a WGCA All-Scholar Team. This annual award celebrates women's collegiate golf programs with the highest collective team grade point averages nationwide.
In a historic achievement, the Knights have been featured on this distinguished list for the first time, marking a record-breaking academic year for the program. Southern Virginia University tied for the 20th highest team GPA in the nation among all divisions, boasting an impressive 3.71.
Adding to the program's academic accolades, the WGCA also announced its All-American Scholars earlier this month. This esteemed list included six members of the Southern Virginia team: CC Banz, Maura Hawkes, Lexi Leavitt, Sydney Richards, Quinn Shupe, and Halle Western.
