HARRISONBURG, Va. — The Southern Virginia University women's golf team claimed first place at the Bridgewater Invitational for the second consecutive year, fueled by a dominant individual performance and strong team depth at Lakeview Golf Course (Par 72, 5,658 yards).
Sydney Richards led the way for the Knights, capturing medalist honors with a two-over-par 146 across two rounds, finishing first out of a field of 50 golfers. Richards' consistency at the top of the leaderboard anchored the Knights' overall victory.
Quinn Foulger continued her hot start to the fall, securing a fifth-place finish at +11 (155), while CC Banz opened with an impressive 74 and followed with an 83 to finish seventh. Halle Western added steady rounds of 77 and 81, placing tied for ninth and rounding out four Knights in the top-10. Lexi Leavitt closed the scoring lineup with a 22nd-place finish (83–86, +25).
Southern Virginia's depth was further highlighted by its B Team, which placed seventh overall. Addison Branham delivered a standout performance with a tie for seventh, matching Banz at +13. Madison Frisby also impressed, carding rounds of 83 and 80 to finish 17th (+19). Rylee Reinbold improved in round two with a +8 performance to finish tied for 24th (+26), while Bailey battled through the tournament to place 45th (+60).
The Knights will now take a short break before returning to action at Carnegie Mellon's Tartan Invitational at the Nemacolin Resort in Farmington, Pa., on Tuesday, October 7.
