BUENA VISTA, Va. — The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2026 Baseball All-Conference teams, with Southern Virginia's Zack Geertsen earning All-Conference recognition for the third consecutive season and Marcelino Leonardo Jr. named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
Geertsen capped his senior season with All-Conference honors as both a pitcher and a hitter, marking his third straight year receiving recognition. At the plate, he earned Second Team All-Conference honors after posting a .319/.409/.471 slash line. He recorded 44 hits, 31 RBIs, and 19 walks, while his 10 doubles were tied for the most on the team.
On the mound, Geertsen logged 63.2 innings—third-most in the conference—and issued just nine walks, the fewest among pitchers with at least 40 innings pitched. He finished the season with a 4-3 record, striking out 37 batters and posting a 5.65 ERA.
Marcelino Leonardo Jr. represented Southern Virginia on the USA South All-Sportsmanship Team. A key presence in the infield, he started 32 games at third base, collecting 31 hits while leading the team with 13 hit-by-pitches.
The Knights will travel to Misenheimer, North Carolina, to face No. 3 Methodist in the opening round of the double-elimination USA South Conference Tournament on April 30 at 3:30 p.m.
