BUENA VISTA, Va. - With the official release of participants for the 2026 NCAA Division lll Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday afternoon, Southern Virginia University can officially announce the return of two All-Americans to the national stage.

Marin Simons has qualified for the high jump after a clutch performance at the Widener Final Qualifier, leaving her 12th in all of Division lll with a best mark of 1.70m (5' 7"). Bayleigh Redd-Armstrong qualifies in the 1,500 and 5K, the first to qualify for two separate events in program history. She currently ranks 16th nationally in the 5K with a time of 16:36.45 at Bryan Clay.

2025-2026 has been nothing short of extraordinary for Redd-Armstrong. After a promising cross country season which saw her become the first women's XC qualifier for the NCAA Championships in program history, she's only gotten better on the track.

After an All-American finish in the indoor mile (16th), Redd-Armstrong has rewritten three outdoor program records and is ranked first in the South Region for the 1,500 and 5K. It's the junior's second-ever trip to the outdoor championships (3K Steeple - 2022).

For Simons, a returning First Team All-American outdoors, she navigated her way through a slow start because of injury to re-establish herself near the top of the national leaderboard.

She finished second at the USA South Championships in April, but steadily improved in her next three postseason meets. Ultimately, she saved her best for the final week of qualifying at Widener's Final Qualifier by establishing a new career best and program record. Simons also leads the South Region in the event.
