FERRUM, Va. — The Southern Virginia University men's tennis team fell Wednesday afternoon to Ferrum College 3-6 marking the third straight loss for the Knights who drop to 1-3 on the season.
The Knights were only able to take one of three doubles matches from Ferrum as freshmen Aaron Hiatt and Parker Monson prevailed in the third seeded doubles match, 8-3.
Hiatt continued his strong play of late, winning No. 6 singles in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.
Freshman Timothy Birch was the only other Knight to win in singles play, taking the third seeded singles match in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
Men's tennis will look to rebound in its final fall match on Friday, Oct. 1 at Bluefield College. The match is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
