Buena Vista, VA – The USA South Athletic Conference has released its 2026 Men's Tennis Preseason Poll, with Southern Virginia selected to finish fourth in the conference standings.
A season ago, the Knights were picked fifth but exceeded expectations with a strong postseason run. Southern Virginia earned a first-round victory over No. 4 seed Brevard before falling to eventual conference champion N.C. Wesleyan in the semifinals.

The Knights return a solid core of experienced players, including Mason Pitcher, Jacob Feldman, Trent McBride, and Traejen Kingston, all of whom were key contributors last season. Southern Virginia is also bolstered by impactful newcomers Mateo Molanphy and Tracen Karrasch, who made their presence felt during the fall campaign. Additionally, Spencer Knight returns to the lineup, bringing valuable experience from his time with the program during the 2022–23 season.
Southern Virginia opens its spring schedule on March 5 with a road match at Division II Ferrum College before returning home on March 7 to host Mars Hill.
