Winchester, Va. — In the first of two matches on Tuesday, the Southern Virginia University women's tennis team defeated Shenandoah University 6-3 to remain unbeaten on the season.
After Shenandoah (2-3) forfeited two singles and one doubles match to the Knights, Southern Virginia (5-0) split the remaining six matches with the NCAA Division III Hornets.

Bethany Johnson defeated Briana Malley 7-5, 6-3 in a tough-fought No. 2 match.
Jaclynn Arrington cruised at No. 3 with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Shenandoah's Aliisa Altua.
Women's tennis now travels to Frederick, Md. where it will face Hood College at 3:30 p.m. for its second match of the day.
