TOWSON, Md. — After winning two separate matches one day earlier, the unbeaten Southern Virginia University women's tennis team continued to roll on Wednesday with a dominant 9-0 road victory over Goucher College.

Southern Virginia (7-0) swept doubles play for the second straight match and became the first team this season to take all three doubles matches from Goucher (2-3).

The duo of Rachel Reid and Bethany Johnson won 8-4 in No. 1 doubles, Rebekah Reid and Brynn McGinn defeated Goucher's second-seeded doubles team 8-2 and Jennifer Jensen teamed with Kayela Bridge for an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles.

The Knights remained sharp in singles play, dropping only two sets to the Gophers in six matches.

Ra. Reid followed her No. 1 doubles victory with a close-fought No. 1 singles win, 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-3).

Twin-sister Re. Reid also added to her doubles win taking the second-seeded singles match in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1.

After dropping the opening set in No. 3 singles, Johnson fought back to pull out a gritty 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 1-0 (8-6) victory for her second win of the day.

Jaclynn Arrington cruised in No. 4 singles with a 6-1, 6-2 win.

Both Jensen and Bridge added to their earlier doubles victories with straight-set wins at No. 5 and No. 6.

Women's tennis will travel to McDaniel College on Thursday, Mar. 10 at 3 p.m. for its fourth match in three days.
