WINCHESTER, Va.—The Southern Virginia University women's tennis team recorded its seventh straight loss on Friday 9-0 at Shenandoah University. 

"I am pleased with the effort Amy [Spencer] gave at the No. 1 spot even though she came up short," said fifth-year Head Coach Deidra Dryden.  "We're hoping to play with our full lineup for the remainder of the season and expect better results." 

Shenandoah (5-7) started things off by taking both doubles matches from Southern Virginia (3-9)—the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches each had a final score of 8-4 respectively. 

Freshman Amy Spencer (Orem, Utah) made her debut at the No. 1 singles position for the Knights.  The match was close, but Spencer eventually fell to the Hornets' Shannon Allin 7-5 and 6-1. 

Women's tennis will head into its final week of the season, traveling to Bluefield, Va., on Thurs., Apr. 11.
