BUENA VISTA, Va.—The Southern Virginia University women's soccer team ended its 2014 campaign with a 2-1 loss against Frostburg State University Tuesday night at The Fields in Buena Vista, Virginia.

Frostburg's Erin Worthman, assisted Stephanie Fazenbaker, scored the first Bobcat goal of the night on a cross to the middle. Just one minute later, the Knights' Valerie Cruz tied the score on a 30-yard free kick from the right side of the field that went over the outstretched arms of Bobcat keeper Katie Smith and into the corner of the net for the score.

The teams went scoreless for most of the second half until the Bobcats' Fazenbaker struck again for a 2-1 advantage with less than five minutes remaining. The lead would hold for a Frostburg State victory.

The Bobcats outshot the Knights by a 29-7 margin. Senior keeper MaKenzie Cox garnered 12 saves for a career total of 260 saves.

Bobcat keeper Katie Smith tallied five saves to assist in the win. The Knights' Kora Jewell and Tatiana Monsen contributed four and one shots, respectively.

The Knights end their 2014 season 6-10-3 overall and 2-6-1 in the Capital Athletic Conference.
