BUENA VISTA, Va.— The Southern Virginia University women's tennis team fell to Christopher Newport University Saturday afternoon, 9-0, in Buena Vista, Va.
During doubles competition, Southern Virginia's Lindee Christensen and Elizabeth Fuchs fell 8-0 to CNU's Katie Carlson and Kate Huck. Micah Roberts and Rachel Christensen fell 8-1 to CNU's Alexandra Drye and McKinney Harwood, while Southern Virginia's Ann Kuroki and Kari Stollenwerk fell 8-2 to Logan Eldridge and Meili Konell
In singles play McKinney Harwod of CNU defeated Elizabeth Fuchs by a 6-0, 6-0 score. Lindee Christensen fell to CNU's Alexandra Drye by a 6-2, 6-0 count. CNU's Katie Carlson overpowered Southern Virginia's Rachel Christensen by a 6-0, 6-1 score. Micah Roberts lost, by a 6-0. 6-1 score, to CNU's Logan Eldridge. CNU's Isabelle Wesel trumped Southern Virginia's Ann Kuroki by a 6-0, 6-2 score.
The Knights will take a break from conference play to take on Randolph College on Wednesday March 25. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. at The Randolph Tennis Courts in Lynchburg, Va.
