Men's Tennis Fall Short at Frostburg

FROSTBURG, Md.—The Southern Virginia University men's tennis team finished its season with a 5-1 loss to Frostburg State University Thursday afternoon in Frostburg, Maryland. 

Parker Monson and Tanner Heyland picked up the only win in doubles play, 8-6. Dallin Evans and Kjell Henness fell, 8-2, as No. 1 doubles. Brennan Hand and Cort Cox lost by an 8-5 count as No. 2 doubles.

The match was called early due to rain. Brennan Alford fell, 6-1, 6-0 as No. 2 singels. Cort Cox fell, 6-1, 6-1 as No. 3 singles. Kjell Henness lost by a 6-2, 6-2 count as No. 4 singles.

The No. 5 singles match was cut short after Parker Monson lost his first set, 7-6 (7-5). Tanner Heyland's No. 6 singles match ended after dropping his first set 7-6 (7-4). Dallin Evans was ahead in the No. 1 singles spot, 2-6, 6-0, 4-1 when Frostburg called the match due to rain.

With the defeat, Southern Virginia finished the season with a 2-14 record while the Bobcats improved to 4-10.
