BUENA VISTA, Va.—The SVU women's tennis team walked away with an impressive 8-1 win against the Hornets of Lynchburg College Thursday afternoon at The Tennis Courts in Buena Vista, Virginia.
Elizabeth Fuchs and Lindee Christensen won 8-0 against No. 1 doubles partners Melissa Drinkard and Catherine So of Lynchburg College. Rachel Christensen and Micah Roberts also posted an 8-0 victory against Lynchburg's No. 2 doubles partners- Kelsey Dowling and Jerica Simmons. Ashley Adamson and Heidi Lee narrowly lost to Lynchburg's No. 3 Katie Kline and Megan Tillou. After a well-played match, the final score was 9-8 (9-7).
The Knights came out on top in singles as well, winning all six matches. Rachel Christensen beat Melissa Drinkard 6-1, 6-3. Lindee Christensen beat Catherine So 6-1, 6-1. Elizabeth Fuchs beat Kelsey Dowling 6-1, 6-2. Micah Roberts beat Jerica Simmons 6-1, 6-1. Ann Kuroki beat Katie Kline 6-1, 6-0. Kari Stollenwerk beat Megan Tillou 6-1, 6-4.
Women's Tennis looks to continue its winning streak as they take on Penn State- Harrisburg Saturday, April 11, at 11:00 am at The Tennis Courts of Southern Virginia University.
