FREDERICKSBURG, Va.—The Southern Virginia men's soccer team was defeated 3-0 by the University of Mary Washington on Tuesday afternoon.
The Eagles (10-2, 5-0 CAC) led a consistent attack throughout the game with 27 total shots, including 14 on goal. Mary Washington didn't find the back of the net until the 39th minute and then once again in the final seconds of the first half. The Eagles then scored in the 51st minute for their third and final goal of the game.
Senior Keenan Carroll had an impressive game in goal for the Knights (3-10, 1-4 CAC) with 11 saves, tying his career record.
Matt Diede had the lone shot for the Knights in the second half.
Southern Virginia returns to The Fields on Saturday, October 15, as they host York College of Pennsylvania. Kickoff will follow the women's game around 7:30 p.m.
