Women's Tennis Ends Season with Decisive Win

WINCHESTER, Va. – In the final match of the 2017 tennis season, the Southern Virginia University women's tennis defeated the Shenandoah Hornets 8-1.

The Knights swept the Hornets in doubles, losing only 5 games in the three matches.

No. 1 Lauren Morrison was ousted by her opponent in a grueling three- set match. No 2 Micah Morse broke her opponent three times in two sets, helping her to win 6-3 6-2. No. 3-6 Kari Stollenwerk, Natalie Teets, Kelly Worthington and Anna Bowers all defeated their respective opponents in straight sets.

It was a welcome victory for the Knights, who finished off the season on a two-match win streak.
