FERRUM, Va. – Losing only one point, the Southern Virginia University women's tennis team defeated Ferrum 8-1 to rebound after conference defeat.
The Knights were looking to rebound after their recent loss to Capital Athletic Conference Opponent Mary Washington. In doubles the Knights won two points at No. 2 and 3 doubles, losing only at No. 1.
Despite being on the road, the Knights held their nerve during their singles matches. None of the Knights dropped a set, sweeping Ferrum in singles.
The notable match of the day came from Micah Morse who held her nerve to win the first set in a tiebreaker 9-7. She attacked early on in the second and ultimately defeated her opponent 6-2 to win the match.
The Knights will host Hollins University April 6 at 3 p.m. at The Fields.
