Eagles Down Knights in Final Game

Fredericksburg, Va. — In the final game of the season, the Southern Virginia University Men's soccer team (1-19-0) fell in the conference tournament to the University of Mary Washington (13-1-3) by a score of 8-0.

The Knights came out sluggish in the first half giving up four goals in the first 10 minutes of play and seven total in the half. In the second half of play, however, Southern Virginia did a much better job, only giving up one goal total for the half.

While none of them were able to connect, the Knights did manage to attempt four shots, three of which were on goal. The shots on goal were attempted by Seth Grieve, Ben Knapmeyer, and Jackson Hatch. Southern Virginia had one corner kick in the second half.

Jacob Solis started in goal for the Knights. Solis managed to record two saves in the first half. In the second half, Kostner Olsen replaced Solis in goal and also managed to finish with two saves for the game.

This will conclude the Knights 2018 season.
