Men's Volleyball Sweeps Hokies

BUENA VISTA, Va. – The Southern Virginia men's volleyball team won its sixth straight match on Thursday, defeating the Virginia Tech men's volleyball club team in straight sets.

The Knights (10-4) won the first set easily by a score of 25-16, the second set 25-19, and the third 25-20 to secure the win.

The team put together an impressive kill percentage of .262 over the course of the match, and was led by freshman Jahren Makanoa with nine kills. Paul Clark added five kills on only six attacks, while Mark Stapley finished with four kills. Setter Kaipo Tagaloa ended the match with 18 assists.

Southern Virginia takes the floor again next Wednesday against CVC opponent Eastern Mennonite in a matchup of two of the conference's top teams. The match is set to start at 7:00 p.m. in the Knight Sports Arena.
