Tolman Named To AVCA Second Team All-America

BUENA VISTA. Va. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its selections for the 2026 Division lll Men's Volleyball All-America teams.

Gehrig Tolman, the newly minted CVC Player of the Year, was named to the Second Team All-America, making it the second consecutive season he's acquired All-American status.

The junior from Gilbert, Arizona came into the season with the weight of huge expectations on his shoulders after a banner season in 2025. He answered the bell with another terrific year, leading the Knights to 29 wins, six of those over ranked opponents.

Tolman notched 874 assists in just 27 matches, averaging 9.5 assists per set. He also surpassed his kill total from last season, totaling 62 while hitting .527.

Additionally, he became the first setter in program history to record multiple 50 assist games in a season. He did so three times, including a career best 54 assists, which is also the second most in a game for Southern Virginia, against Stevens in late March.

The decorated captain will look to lead the Knights on another deep postseason run during his senior season in 2027.
