BUENA VISTA, Va. – The Southern Virginia University women's tennis team did not drop a single point in their 9-0 victory over Ferrum College.
The Knights only dropped seven games in their three doubles matches, with the No. 2 doubles team, comprised of Natalie Teets and Audrey McBride defeating their opponents 8-0.
No. 1 Elizabeth Fuchs had to battle back in the third set after splitting sets 7-6, 4-6 with her opponent. Fuchs won the third set tiebreaker 10-8 to give the Knights a point at the top position.
Natalie Teets, the Knights No. 4 singles player, defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-0 and was the only Knight not to drop a single game during both the singles and doubles match.
The rest of the Knights took down their opponents in straight sets, giving Southern Virginia its first 9-0 win of the season.
The Knights will be back in action on Wednesday, March 14 against Salem College at Winston-Salem, N.C. at 2 p.m.
