Box Score BUENA VISTA, Va. — The Southern Virginia men's soccer team suffered a tough loss to the University of Mary Washington Wednesday night by the score of 6-0.
The Knights (2-13) had seven shots on the night, with two being on goal. Peysen Webster led the team with three shots, followed by Zander Budd, Anthony Bowden, Zach Martin, and Kanon Heaton, adding shots of their own. Goalkeeper Jacob Solis stood tall in the cage, recording 13 saves on the night.
Southern Virginia stood their ground at the beginning of the game before a miscommunication on defense allowed Jeremy Hokenson to score first for the Eagles (9-3-2). Mary Washington rattled off four more goals before heading to the locker room for halftime.
In the second half, the Knights defense came together only allowing one goal. Southern Virginia missed several scoring opportunities before the clock hit zero.
Southen Virginia will host York College on Saturday, October 19th, at 7 pm at Knight Stadium.
